Moments of the Decade

This has been a very interesting decade.  There have been huge technological advances in society and things that will change the world forever.

To start it off in 2010, Apple released the first ever IPad. One of the weirdest moments in 2010 when Lady Gaga wore a meat dress to the VMA’s. She would win video of the year with her beef dress.

In 2011, Beyonce would announce that she is pregnant with her first child.  Which would end up breaking the internet. Harry Potter came to an end as the final movie Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, Part 2 hit theaters and would be the end of a great franchise.

In 2012,  Linsanity took over the world and led the Knicks to 7 straight wins.  Linsanity also known as Jeremy Lin would have a huge breakout that made him famous.” Gangnam Style” would break onto the internet in 2012 and would become the most viewed video ever on Youtube at the time to hit over a billion views.

In 2013, “Harlem Shake” hit the internet and would be one of the craziest trends to happen.  Also the cup song from pitch perfect would have people all over the country trying to replicate it.  Of course everyone remembers “What Does the Fox Say” and it was a top trending video in 2013.

In 2014, the ALS ice bucket challenge would hit the internet and people would continuously challenge other people to take on the challenge.

In 2015, a controversial topic came up on the internet, was the dress black and blue or white and gold.  It’s still something that has not been figured out to this day?  

In 2016, arguably the best year of the decade lots of things happened.  Leonardo Dicaprio won his first Oscar, Harambe the beloved zoo animal would die.  Pokemon Go would break the world as it blew up crazy and one of our favorite apps from our childhood. Vine would shut down in 2016.

In 2017, the once in a lifetime astronomical event would happen. The solar eclipse filled the sky, and we all had fidget spinners in our hands when everyone was looking at the solar eclipse, .

In 2018, the Royal wedding with Meghan Markle and Prince Harry would have over 29 million viewers.

In 2019, 2 big movies would hit.  One of them being Avengers Endgame which broke box office records and a solo Joker movie that would change the way we view the Joker.
