Senior John Wallace has been raising money since Sept 4 for the Make A Wish Foundation as part of his senior project.

Wallace chose to help the Make A Wish Foundation because, “The Make a Wish Foundation made it possible for my family and I to go to Disney World for free, after my brain surgery,” Wallace said.

He started by having a donation jar at the Tracy High School home football games. He sat at a table by the entrance and called to the people filing in, “Donate to the Make A Wish Foundation.”

To add to the funds, he decided to have a wiffle ball tournament open to Tracy High School students and alumni.

The equipment, wiffle ball bats, balls, cones, and trophies for the winners were all paid for and provided by through the support of the Tracy High Earth Club. “I’m glad Earth Club was able to contribute,” Earth Club Advisor Dean Reese said.

The players participated in teams of four and played on the field at Wayne Schneider Stadium. Each team paid $20 to participate. All proceeds went to the Make A Wish Foundation.

On Saturday November 7 at 11 a.m., 13 people came to play wiffle ball and donate money to the Make a Wish Foundation. Wallace, Reese, and senior Billy Shaddix facilitated the event.

“We went out there for a couple hours,” Shaddix said. “Just messed around and had a good time.”

Wallace made $150 from the tournament and has made about $700 overall.

Wallace plans to have a donation jar at the entrance to the basketball games. “Please support our Bulldogs and then donate to Make A Wish while you’re at it,” Wallace said.
