The Moto X smartphone combines Google’s software and Motorola’s manufacturing to make a sleek and futuristic device. The Moto X is a well-equipped smartphone with various camera and performance enhancements which makes it highly comparable to the iPhone 5.

The Moto X has a remarkable design with curved edges with a rounded back which makes it comfortable to hold in the hand. Also, the Moto X comes in many color options including blue, pink, yellow and black. In addition, it can be customized to have a wood back cover instead of a plastic back cover.

The Moto X has a 4.7 inch, 720p HD display with Organic Light Emitting Diode (OLED) technology. OLED displays have more color variation than LCD displays and they do not require a backlight, so they consume less power. Although the display is not full HD, it is still high end because the individual pixels cannot be seen by the naked eye.

The OLED screen brings out vivid colors and texts, but it can have its drawbacks because it is not as bright as LCD displays which can be found in the iPhone 5. Loss of brightness can cause a reduction in clarity when operating the phone outside.

The Moto X has a 1.7GHz dual-core Qualcomm s4 Pro processor with quad core Adreno 320 graphics. This specific processor consumes less power and has fast graphics for playing video games. Also, the Moto X has 2GB of RAM. All these components combined make the Moto X one of the fastest phones to date. The fast processor allows the phone to accomplish many tasks such as checking emails and playing games with ease.

The phone runs pure Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean from Google. Unlike many other phones like the HTC ONE or the Galaxy S4, the Moto X runs pure Android. This means that the phone will receive up-to-date software directly from Google and no bloat ware from cell phone companies such as AT&T will be added onto the phone’s memory. The pure Android experience also offers smooth transitions and fluidity throughout the software, with minimal glitches. I really liked the phone’s software because it was a lot faster compared to iOS and it has many more features.

The Moto X has a 10 megapixel camera with a clear pixels lens cover. This allows 75 percent more light than competing smartphone cameras. This phone takes awesome pictures with the right amount of contrast. The images are very realistic. Also, it comes equipped with 1080p full-HD video recording with stabilization and LED flash. The videos cannot be viewed in 1080p resolution on the phone because it only has a resolution of 720p.

The Moto X costs $199 with a 2-year contract on AT&T or Verizon with 16GB of capacity. The cost of the phone is similar to today’s high other high end phones such as the Galaxy S4, HTC One, and iPhone 5.

The Moto X is a great smartphone and it is on par with the Samsung Galaxy S4. I would recommend the Moto X to anyone that loves to game or just likes to do basic things on their smartphone like checking emails, calling, and texting. The fast processor equipped with the pure Android experience makes this phone one of the best to date.
