I thought the film brought many adored actors/actresses together into one film that used their celebrity appeal in an entertaining way.

I expected “Hail, Caesar!” to be a poorly written, superficial comedy because of the amount of famous actors/actresses chosen to bring attention to the film.

To my surprise, this movie had an interesting plot that made me connect to the characters.

Josh Brolin plays Eddie Mannix, a Hollywood film industry worker in the 1950s. He is trying to solve the mystery of abducted actor Baird Whitlock, played by George Clooney, who is the star of the film, “Hail, Caesar!” which is the studios major production.

Whitlock is drugged by an extra through a drug in his goblet prop from the film. The culprit calls himself, “The Future.” He demands a $100,000 ransom for a communist cause.

Several well-known actors/actresses were used to draw in customers, which paid off with a gross of $40 million.

The movie features Channing Tatum as Burt Gurney, the star of a sailor comedy film, Scarlett Johansson who plays synchronized swimming actress, DeeAnna Moran, and Jonah Hill as Joseph Silverman, a foster care agent.

I would rate this movie 7.5/10. The acting was done well; however, the plot was easily seen through and built on comic relief rather than actual comedic affect.

As a fan of many of the actors/actresses in the production, I enjoyed seeing them perform in a single entertaining film.

I do not hope for a second adaption of this movie, but I appreciate the overall outcome of this performance.
