Midway through the football season, things are starting to take shape for the bulldog football squad. The players have a good feeling heading into league play Friday, Sept. 28 at Tokay.

Quarterback Logan Fife said, “the team can get some more work in, but we will do pretty great this year and have a better record than last season.”

The team’s goal is to get to the playoffs and beat in-town rival schools along the way. Defeating Kimball 75-12 in the first game of the season helped accomplish half of the second goal. The football team’s record is 3-2 heading in to league. This upcoming week the team faces the Tokay Tigers in Lodi. Lincoln will travel to Tracy on Oct. 5. The bulldogs then hit the road for a game at St. Mary’s before retuning to action in a Homecoming contest on Oct. 19. The final week of the regular season will see Tracy visit West High to try to complete the other half of the cross-town championship goal.

Wide reviver Silver Archer said, “Each week in practice we prepare by watching at least 2 hours of film and every day we prepare a new defensive scheme for the upcoming Friday and we work hard to make it to the playoffs .”

Practice always makes perfect because you can learn from your mistakes and fix them for the next game. That is exactly what the team plans to do in order to accomplish this season’s goals.
