Maria Pozsar has been fascinated by modern language since childhood. She is interested in different languages because she believe languages bring out culture. She loves to travel and try different types of food. Maria Pozsar is the only French teacher at Tracy High, and she enjoys every second of it.

What is your favorite movie? “My favorite movie is, ‘The Chorus,’ because it has a good message about students who do not believe in themselves.”

What do you love most about your job? “The thing that I like most about my job is interacting with students.”

What is the most difficult part of your job? “The most difficult part of my job is teaching IB French standard and higher level in the same class period.”

Do you have any hobbies? What do you do in your down time? “I love to travel and shop. I like meeting new people, seeing new places, and getting familiar with new cultures. Also, I enjoy reading, cooking, and gardening.”

What is your favorite restaurant? “My favorite restaurant is Scott’s Sea Food in Sacramento because I love sea food. My favorite dish is the oysters.”

What was the best trip that you took? “The best trip that I took was to Japan because the culture and language there were very fascinating.”

What makes you happy? “The success of my daughter and grand-daughter makes me happy.”

What drives or motivates you? “I am very optimistic and I am always looking for positive outcomes in every situation that I face. My faith in God is what drives me.”

What was the best advice you have ever gotten? “The best advice that I have ever gotten is to keep moving forward, even if the circumstances are not in your favor.”

What does a perfect day look like to you? “Going to new a new place with my family is the best day for me.”

What is the best thing about teaching at Tracy High? “I previously taught at an all-boys school. So, the best thing about teaching at Tracy High is that I enjoy working with co-ed classes with people from various ethnical backgrounds.”
