Julia Sawin, Assistant Editor
Julia Sawin is a 17-year-old senior at Tracy High School. She was born on February 4, 2005, in Pleasanton, California. She has lived in Tracy her whole life. Sawin lives in a family of five. She has two younger sisters; one whom is a sophomore at Tracy High, and the other whom is in 6th grade. She does everything with them and is very lucky to call them her best friends. Sawin is a competitive baton twirler as well as the feature twirler for Tracy High. She has been twirling since she was 4 years old. She has been honored to be a part of Team USA and competed all over the world and has won many National and International titles. Recently, she has competed at the World Championships in Turin, Italy, and brought home the silver medal. Sawin loves to travel and explore new places. Besides competing in Canada, Italy and France, Sawin has also been to Washington D.C and Florida to name a few. She has a passion for performing. Her favorite memory from twirling at Tracy High School was the reaction of her peers when she twirled fire baton for the night rally her freshmen year. The energy was unmatched. Sawin is a hard worker, an optimist, and never backs down from a challenge. She loves reading and writing in her free time and also enjoys following sports statistics, especially when it comes to the Kansas City Chiefs and the Golden State Warriors. She takes her schoolwork very seriously and has set many goals for herself. Some of her favorite subjects are math, science and language arts. She is aspiring to attend a 4 year University and twirl for her college band as well. She recently had the opportunity to twirl at a University of Colorado football game and it was the most amazing experience. Sawin is most interested in becoming a rocket engineer.
