During the week of May 6 to May 10 Tracy High School showed appreciation to their amazing teachers. The week honored teachers for the difference they make inside and outside of the classroom, creating an educational and comforting environment for their students.
Teachers work above and beyond to ensure their students receive a proper education. Teachers provide resources to students to help them achieve success. Teachers, along with other staff, have created differences in the lives of students.
Brittany Baron, an English teacher at Tracy High School, shared her experience as a teacher. She reflected on many memorable moments. According to Baron, it’s very rewarding when a student develops an understanding of a hard topic.
“Seeing lightbulbs on their head physically turn on makes me happy,” Baron smiled.
Tracy High School home economics teacher Debbie Johnson shared advice she would give those seeking a career in teaching along with what Teacher Appreciation Week means to her.
“Teaching is hard, but rewarding,” Johnson said. “I enjoy making connections and seeing kids try something new.”
Teachers not only help students develop academically but create bonds that can last a lifetime.
Ruth Alvarez, a biology teacher at Tracy High School, talked about how much she enjoyed helping students as a teacher.
“It’s not about what I teach,” Ruth continued. “It’s about how I make you [students] feel.”
Teachers and staff around campus have gone above and beyond to help academic growth while forging close bonds with their students.
