The Final Rally

The+Final+Rally

As the school year comes to an end, Tracy High School hosted the annual Rotation Rally for students to cherish the last days of their 2023-2024 school year.

The Rotation Rally highlighted each grade as they rotate across the gym into their new ‘spot,’ symbolizing the students’ next chapters of their lives.

To start off the rally, students were chosen from each grade to volunteer in a game of tug-of-war. Underclassmen booed, while seniors cheered on their class contestants as they won their final rally activity.

To keep up the energy in the room, a short karaoke battle took place. Each grade had their own individual song to sing along to.

“It was cool, I think each grade was very energetic singing their song,” Miguel Rodriguez, a senior, said.

The final game of ‘The Battle of the Beads’ was played between students and teachers. Students cheered on the contestants eager to find out the winner.

At last, to finish the rally, younger students made their transitions into their new spots.

Upcoming graduates shared a space on the floor, as they watched a short slideshow of all the students’ photos throughout their high school years. Lots of tears and soon to be goodbyes were brought up by seniors as they watched their high school memories play before their eyes.

Students of THS shared their overloaded feelings after watching the slideshow.

“I feel very happy because we’re graduating soon, but also very sad because we’ve all been together for these past four years,” Leilani Ruvalcaba, a senior, said.

The seniors became emotional as they took in an unwanted realization of leaving behind their comfortable lives they had built together.

“It was a tear-jerker for me, I might have shed a few tears. I’m just going to miss it so much honestly. But I am proud to say that we did it,” Skylar Payne, a senior, shared.

“It was cool to see the memories we’ve all shared the past four years and all the things we’ve accomplished. It was very nostalgic,” Abigail Riley, a senior, said.

The final rally was a success, leaving students with an unforgettable memory as well as bringing back former ones.

As all the students left the room, younger students looked towards their still pending years of high school while seniors continued to walk towards the future of their individual lives.
