Tracy High School’s annual Hoopla 2025 brought students and staff together in the weeklong celebration, leading up to the Crosstown Classic basketball game against West High School. A series of spirit days prepared for the anticipated Black Light Rally.
“I was able to work with the other Senior class Officers to set up the Hoopla Dance and although our turnout wasn’t very big, everyone who attended seemed to have a fun time,” senior class secretary Iris Galicia said.
The Leadership class worked together to ensure a spirited event for the senior class to remember. Hoopla 2025’s spirit week embraced a music-inspired theme, with each day dedicated to a different artist or era based on class themes.
The week kicked off with Morgan Wallen Day, bringing a country-inspired atmosphere across campus on Monday.
On Tuesday, students then went all out for Nicki Minaj Day, dressed in pink.
On Wednesday, the school united for Taylor Swift Day, with outfits inspired by different Eras Tour aesthetics.
By Thursday, the throwback theme took over for Rolling Stones Day, where students embraced fashion from past decades.
The throwback theme brought feelings of nostalgia for senior class president Grace Witbeck. “It was a little bittersweet knowing it was my last time helping with hoopla,” Witbeck said, sharing her sentiment. “Knowing it was my last time I really tried putting in the effort to make it memorable for the seniors.”
To prepare the energy for Tracy’s big Friday night, students dressed in all white and neon, illuminating the gym under glowing lights at the Black Light Rally.
“It was great to see our school come together to support our team and have pride in their school,” senior class vice president Abella Mayorga added. “I’ve never seen a basketball dog pound that big.”
Tracy High School’s Hoopla 2025 ended as a night to remember for the Bulldogs, calling and celebrating the crosstown victory from start to finish.
