During Tracy High School’s Hoopla week, the annual Mr. and Mrs. Bulldog tradition was decided by the teachers and staff, who were responsible for selecting the winners for the 2024-2025 school year.
Teachers and staff nominated their top five candidates for Mr. and Mrs. Bulldog. The winners were announced at the Crosstown Classic Hoopla basketball game against West.
These students embody what it means to be a Bulldog through their dedication, the kindness they show to others and the pride they take in their accomplishments school-wide.
Mr. Bulldog candidates were Derek Bogetti, Jacobus Brakkee, Dylan Hazelbaker, William Metge and Riley Posten.
Mrs. Bulldog candidates were Bayli Brown, Madelyn Fry, Janet Romo, Emma Sawin and Jazmine Vargas.
At halftime during the game, the winners, Derek Bogetti and Emma Sawin were announced.
“I think being a nice person around campus and being good in class helps,” Bogetti said. “Being Mr. Bulldog shows everyone who is a role model on campus and someone you can talk to. It’s the person who best represents Tracy High and its history. It’s a real honor to get this award.”
“That’s why being a part of this was very special,” Sawin added. “For the teachers, for Tracy High to be able to know who I am and recognize my name and be able to vote for me is such an honor.”
2025 Mr. and Mrs. Bulldog will be able to look back in years’ time and reflect on the impact and character that gave them the opportunity to be part of Tracy High School’s legacy.
