On Saturday, Jan. 25, the Tracy High Girls’ Varsity basketball team had an exciting game against Bear Creek. The Lady Bulldogs defeated Bear Creek by 32 points, with a final score of 52-20.
The game, held at Tracy High at 1:30 p.m., marked the team’s second league win, providing a significant morale boost for the Lady Bulldogs.
“It’s fun, and there’s a lot to take away from watching the varsity girls play. I’m hoping I can be at that level when I’m a senior,” Jenna Arias said, a freshman on the junior varsity team who watched the game.
The varsity team had several players returning from illness or vacation, leaving uncertainty about how the game would unfold after reviewing the film.
“Not being 100% was a concern of mine, and I hoped we could build off of the success of this week,” said Rob Ocon, head coach of the girls’ varsity basketball team.
Tracy’s next game is against Kimball on Thursday at 7:30 p.m. The game will be an away game, and the team is hoping for support from students, even though it’s on the road.
“The team has been really determined after these two wins, and I’m hoping we can bring this energy to Thursday’s game,” exclaimed Addison Riddle, No. 32 on the varsity team.
The next home game for the girls’ varsity team is Saturday, Feb. 1. Come out and support the Lady Bulldogs.
