The Tracy High varsity baseball team had a huge week, picking up three straight wins over Kimball on Monday, Wednesday and Friday.
With clutch hitting, solid pitching and gritty defense, the Bulldogs found different ways to win every game.
Game 1 – Mon., March 24: Tracy 13, Kimball 2

Tracy came out with energy in the first game of the series but found themselves down 8-4 in the fifth. That’s when the bats got hot.
Derek Bogetti sparked the comeback with a clutch single that brought in three runs, cutting the deficit and shifting the momentum.
“It felt good being able to drive three runs in and do my job to kick Kimball’s butt,” Bogetti said.
Leland Freitas hit a single, scoring one run. Elijah Guiterrez was struck by a pitch driving in another run.
Soon after, Dylan Giannini stepped up with a bases-clearing double to give the Bulldogs the lead.
Giannini had a 5 inning win on the mound allowing just 2 hits, 1 earned run, 0 walks, and striking out 4 Jaguars.

Game 2 – Wed. , March 26: Tracy 7, Kimball 6
Wednesday’s game was another battle. Tracy went up early but had to hold off a late Kimball push to pull out the win.
Brown reached base three times, scored twice, and had a big double.
Giannini came through again with a two-RBI single, and Verduzco delivered another clutch RBI in the sixth.
Freitas and Brown shared pitching duties, with Brown shutting things down in the final three innings and picking up five strikeouts.
“I felt that my mindset was to keep attacking the zone and going after the hitters, by throwing strikes and trusting my defense,” Brown said.

Game 3 – Fri., March 28: Tracy 3, Kimball 0
The Bulldogs finished the sweep behind a dominant performance from pitcher Jace Johnson. The senior lefty threw a complete-game one-hitter with 10 strikeouts and no walks.
“I stayed in my head and didn’t want to make it seem like the game would be easy for us,” Johnson said.
He only needed 84 pitches to get through seven innings.
“I played to our level and didn’t drop into it and stayed locked the entire game,” Johnson said.
The offense came alive in the sixth. Jacoby Freitas tripled to bring in one run, and two more scored on a Kimball error.
Freitas went 2-for-3, while Elijah Gutierrez and Malakai Jacobo added hits of their own.
The Bulldogs took a lost, 4-0 to the St. Mary’s Rams on Mon. March 31, but look to redeem themselves in their next game Wed. April 2.
