On the last Friday of March and last Saturday, Tracy High held their spring musical, Cinderella. Tickets were $10 for students and $18 for adults.
The production followed the very popular storytelling of Cinderella. Cinderella is a poor maid to her two stepsisters and stepmother after her father died. She still has her godmother, though.
The production was a musical and included many songs.
“I’ve been really excited to sing on stage. It’s really fun,” said Sarah Corpuz, an ensemble in the production.
The production’s director was Dana Whittney. Mrs. Whittney is currently the drama teacher here at Tracy High and an English teacher. The musical director was Sarah McGuire.
The production was two hours long and included many breaks in between, so you had time to stretch your legs. The production was also split into two parts. The first part was leading up to the ball, and the second part was after the great ball.
“I really enjoy acting, but singing isn’t something I’m that good at. I hope other people’s voices hide mine. I’m still very excited to be in the production, though. I made so many friends,” exclaimed Angle Rivera, a multi-role actor in the production.
“I think my favorite part was when the stepsisters fought. It seemed like real sibling jealousy, and they brought some comedy to the romance,” said Evelyn Trujillo, an audience member.
