Tracy High School’s art teachers held their annual art show this past week. The three art teachers held this event in the lobby of the theater for all students to go and visit.
The art show did not include a theme, as it was a collection of art that students had completed throughout this school year. All three art teachers, Catherine Smutny, Cory Morrison and Joy Cornishbowden, asked their students to submit work they were proud of to display in the gallery.
“I try my hardest to make sure that every one of my students’ work gets to be on display, but we have to divide up the space so I can fit everyone’s, unfortunately,” stated Smutny, an art teacher at Tracy High.
The Tracy High Art Show has been an event held for the last 20 years and will continue to be held every year moving forward.
“I was overwhelmed when I went to see my art because I didn’t expect the teachers to fill the whole lobby with art! You could not even see a wall,” exclaimed Valerie Valejo, a participant in this year’s art show.
The art show is up until May 16. After that, the art will be taken down and returned to the students to take home.
“I hope more people will come see the show. A bunch of students I know worked hard, including me, so it would be nice if more people saw the art,” said Angel Trong, a participant in the art show.
The students and teachers who helped run the art show urge you to come check out the art before they take it down!
