On Tuesday, Apr. 29, the Tracy High Boys golf team played in the TCAL league tournament at Micke Grove, where they placed 3rd as a team and took the title of League Champions.
The team in total shot 383. For the individuals, Hayden Thien scored a 73 and Jacobus Brakkee scored 76. Brothers Owen Moore and Tommy Moore both shot a 77, then Brandon Keith shot an 80 and Lucas Nguyen followed with an 86.
Thien felt that he could have shot better, but he was still very proud of how he played and the victory was an accomplishment for him.
“My game was decent, not too bad but also not too good, but I was very proud of how locked in my putting was,” Thein explained.
“I was very pleased with my performance, but I wish I could have helped the team more,” Brakkee explained.
Owen Moore said that his round was rough and felt he could have played better. He reflected on the aspects of his game that he could improve and explained that he understands what to work on for future tournaments and matches.
Tommy Moore explained that his round was okay.
“I could tell from the start that I didn’t have my best stuff, but I fought through the round and ended up shooting a decent score,” Tommy Moore said.
Tommy Moore also explained that even though it was a tough day, his iron play was solid and he was proud of that.
Keith described his round as “mid” and feels that he could have played a lot better but still is proud of the team.
Nguyen stated that he played bad at the start of the tournament, but he was able to pick up momentum in the end which helped him play better and directly influenced his final score.
In the end, this victory shows the bulldog’s hard work and perseverance throughout the season helped lead them to this point. Their dedication to the sport helped the team accomplish their goals in this final tournament.
