On Friday, the Tracy High Bulldogs defeated the West High Wolf Pack in dominate fashion, with a final score of 61-6. The Bulldogs had a strong lead early in the game which led the team to a large victory.
Tracy High football coach Jeff Pribble was amazed by the team’s weekly progress leading up to the cross-town classic.
“It was one of the best pregame practices I’ve had in quite a few years,” Pribble said.
According to Pribble, the team blocked well and illustrated strong communication.
“We’ve got pride in blocking for each other on the outside of our wide receivers on offence,” Pribble explained.” We’re communicating a ton on defense right now.”

Sophomore quarterback Brady Brown passed for a total of 178 yards in the air and rushed for 85 yards on nine carries.
Brown’s father, Dave Brown, played in the first ever Cross-Town Classic 30 years ago.
“It means a lot for sure, 30 years ago he was here on the same field,” Brown continued. “I just wanted to follow in his footsteps.”
Brown credited the running game as a reason for the team’s success through the air.
“We’re doing good offensively running the ball,” Brown concluded.
Senior wide receiver David Goularte mentioned the Bulldogs being motivated by members of West High posting previously on social media.
“They were actually posting stuff on TikTok and Instagram,” Goularte explained. “So, we had a lot of motivation going into the game.”
Goularte played a key role in Friday’s victory, scoring on a 20-yard touchdown reception and returning a punt for a 60-yard touchdown.
“Big Team, Little Me came to fruition on this field tonight, and I couldn’t be prouder,” Pribble nodded.
The Bulldogs will travel to Turlock for the Battle of the Bone as the Bulldogs matchup against the Dogs of Turlock. Kickoff is set for 7pm on Friday, Aug. 29.
