Tracy High senior Brandon Macdonald hosted a fundraiser downtown at the farmers market to raise money for his AG/Sci Senior project.
Macdonald is raising money for guardian caps for a local youth football team, the Tracy Buccaneers.
“I want to raise awareness for concussions to the dangers they have,” Macdonald expressed.
Macdonald suffered from two concussions from football in his sophomore year which later led to him quitting football.
“We are at the Tracy’s Farmers Market, this is my first fundraiser, and we are selling homemade bracelets and chapsticks” Macdonald states.
Macdonald emphasizes how he intends to inspire others with his Senior Project.
Customer Stephanie Riveno is very passionate about Macdonald’s project because her son had also suffered head injuries at a young age from football.
“To see something so positive go towards head injuries and concussions, this just goes to show for more support and
going to show hopefully more kids will want to get into tackle football” Riveno
Stacey Browne head director of AG/Sci expressed how this project will continue to help the community.
“This is a great project because its sustainable because this will continue to help the kids and the dangers they have” Browne explains.
Macdonald had a successful first fundraiser raising $1275 and will continue to do so at the next Tracy Buccaneers game.
