On Friday, Sept. 26, junior Hayden Fell committed to California State University Long Beach as part of her softball scholarship.
Fell has been playing softball since she was four years old and it has always been a dream of hers to hit and pitch at the D1 level. Fell has worked exceptionally well to build a successful future for herself.
“I have traveled all around the country playing since I was eight.” Fell explained. “I have been going to showcases and college camps since I was 12 trying to get recruited.”
Fell is very grateful for this opportunity and is excited to embark on this journey somewhere she feels confident and happy in.

“The atmosphere in Long Beach felt like home.” Fell described. “As soon as I stepped onto the campus and saw the opportunity to play divisional and softball, it felt like a dream come true,”
Softball Coach Paulette Keeney felt proud of Fell’s accomplishments and knows she will make a great impact.
“She is an amazing player,” Keeney noted. “And she is going to be a great asset to their program,”
Keeney has watched Fell grow throughout the years and foresees a promised future for her.
“She’s just a junior, and she’s got a lot more growing to do.” Keeney claimed. “I am so excited for the season because I can just see her getting better and working harder,”
Senior Emalee Cargill felt that her teammate’s achievements are well-deserved.
“After all these years of her working hard to finally reach a goal of competing at the highest level she wants to, I am proud of her,” Cargill reflected.
