With water polo season ending, the team held its awards night on Nov 18 and gave out awards to the teams.

The most valuable player award went to senior varsity girl Dallyce Marglon and junior varsity boy’s Chris Ramon. Most improved for the boy’s went to junior Marc Anchartechahar and for the girl’s Melanie Lytle.

“I felt honored,” Anchartechahar said. “I was just trying to do my part on the team.”

Ramon and senior Chaz Samaniego earned second team honors for all league. For the varsity girl’s Marglon and senior Makennah Bailey also made second team all league.

“It was nice to be recognized for all the hard work throughout the season,” Samaniego said. “It felt really good, especially as a senior. I felt like I had finally reached my goal.”

“I feel very proud because I worked hard and tried my best,” Marglon said. “I wasn’t sure who would win because everyone on our team has come a long way.”

All league honorable mention for the boy’s was given to senior Chris Kennedy and for the girl’s sophmore Lane Fishburn. The Coach’s Award was given to Vincent Mello and Samantha Williams.

“They really deserved this award,” coach Keith Britt said. “They demonstrated great leadership and really made an impact on the program through the years.”

“I feel like all the players who deserved an award got one, the players were really spot on this year,” Britt said.

Both varsity teams finished 2-6 in league.

“I’m very proud of my team, they came together and had great chemistry throughout the year,” Britt said.

“I have high hopes for next year,” Britt said. “My only concern for next year is not having a goalie experienced enough to play at this level.”
