Q + A: Math teacher Elizabeth Castello

Math teacher Elizabeth Castello loves inspiring her students and working with children. She has always dreamt of being a teacher and likes it when her day goes smoothly and without any trouble.
What is your favorite movie?
“I like ‘Remember the Titans’ and the ‘Blindside’. Both of them are good movies. They’re both really educational and inspirational.”
What is your idea of a perfect day?
“I like it when my day just goes smooth. Everything goes well and there are no road blocks.”
What do you love the most about your job?
“I like working with kids, it’s definitely my favorite part about my job.”
What is the most difficult part about your job?
“Keeping up with the paper work is really hard. Making sure that all paper work is returned on a timely fashion is really difficult.”
What’s your favorite part about working with children?
“I like teaching and inspiring children. I always try to motivate them to do better.”
What’s the best trip you ever took and why?
“My favorite trip was my trip to Disneyland because the whole family went. Watching the fireworks was the best part because it was a lot of fun.”
What’s your favorite fast food restaurant and item?
“I like In-N-Out because their burgers are really good. They are better than most burgers because they’re fresh.”
When you were growing up what did you want to be?
“I have always wanted to be a teacher. It was always my dream.”
Where did you go to college and why did you choose that college?
“I went to Los Positas for two years. I then went to East Bay and eventually got my teaching credentials from Stanislaus. I went to these schools because they were all local so I could stay at home and not have that extra living expense.”
If you could have something new for your classroom what would you choose?
“I need a new computer. My computer sounds like it’s blowing up all the time. I need a newer and faster computer.”
