‘How I Met Your Mother’ series finale fails to tie up loose ends

The viewers also waited nine entire seasons to finally meet the infamous Mother only to find out that she dies. Viewers do not even get a proper death scene of the Mother. We simply find out that she got sick and is no longer there.
However, the biggest shock of the episode came when Ted’s children realize that their father did not tell them the story of how he met their mother, in reality he told them the story of how he is in love with Robin. As the children so cleverly pointed out, most of Ted’s story did not even involve their mother but was completely about Robin.
This makes Ted realize that he has always loved Robin and he rushes to get tell her how he feels. This part of the episode was completely ridiculous and senseless in my eyes. Viewers of the show were led to believe since season one that the entire premise of the show was about Ted’s journey to finding his one true love, the mother of his children.
Instead, we find out that the mother was actually just a plot device. She was honestly just there to give Ted children, since Robin could not, and she was also Ted’s consolation prize until he could be with Robin. This made me feel as if the show should not be called “How I Met Your Mother”, but in reality should be called “How I Met Your Step-Mother”. Thomas and Bay’s gave the viewers a wrong impression of the show since the very start.
The show was also highly focused on the friendship of the main five characters. In the series finale we see that as the years go on the five friends barely even see each other. They almost come to the point of becoming total strangers. This completely ruins friendships viewers used to enjoy watching so much.
Overall, the HIMYM series finale was horrible, disgusting, repulsive, and worst ending to a series ever in the history of television. If you are a fan of the show I suggest you don’t even bother watching this episode. If you have never seen the show before I suggest you never bother watching it because the final episode of the show will simply just ruin everything you love about it.
I would also suggest that everyone should boycott any future television shows made by Thomas and Bay since they clearly do not know how to end a television show properly and will just leave viewers devastated and annoyed.
