Jennifer Grover has spent her entire life with a strong passion for music. She loves expressing her love for music as a choir teacher. When she’s outside of the classroom, she loves to spend time dancing and watching classical movies.

How was your first year of teaching at Tracy High? “It feels like I’m coming home. My kids have all grown up here. This is home; it’s what I love. It really was a great year.”

What made you want to become a choir teacher? “I was in a children’s chorus when I was eight years old and had a great time. I went to my mother and told her that this is what I want to do.”

Where did you attend college? “I went to two colleges. The first was Brigham Young University-Idaho where I received my associates in vocal performance and piano pedagogy. After getting married and having kids, I attended California State University, Stanislaus, where I received a bachelor’s degree in vocal performance and choral education.”

What are some of your current goals? “Some of my goals are to continue my career at Tracy High and keep developing the choirs. Also, I want to continue to be the best mom I can be.”

What are some of your hobbies? “I love to dance. I do ballroom dancing once a week. I’m also a classic movie junkie.”

What is your dream vacation? “I would love to spend a year touring all of Europe and see all the countries. I want to see where my ancestors came from.”

What motivates you? “Having a passion and love for what I’m doing. Otherwise, I’m not interested. I also feel a need to be good at what I’m doing.”

What is the best advice you have ever received? “Do what you do at the best you can. After that you let it go. We strive for perfection but it’s impossible. Don’t feel bad for what you cannot do.”

What is your most memorable trip? “My most memorable trip would be my trip to Disney World with my family because it was our last big trip as a family before my daughter went off to college. I also loved my trip to Europe with my husband and getting to visit Vienna and Budapest.”

What makes you happy? “It really makes me happy to watch students succeed. Seeing performing arts in general and watching people striving for excellence in their field is amazing to me. My family and four kids Kayla, Bryant, Spencer, and Jacob make me very happy.”
