The 2014 Tracy High yearbooks were distributed to excited students on May 23.

The yearbooks are green with a smooth texture as the cover. Yearbook teacher Nancy Stamatis, felt proud of the edition.

“Yearbook distribution ran smoothly, and my students seemed to have fun,” Stamatis said. “The students seemed to love the book.”

Editor Jessica Rynberg talked about handing the books out.

“It is crazy, fun, and sad because it is the seniors last book,” Rynberg said. “All of the English classes come during their period to get their yearbook.”

There are some rules that every student has to follow in order to get a book.

“If they do not have their ID, then they cannot get their book,” Rynberg said. “If their name is not on the list, but they bought a yearbook, the student must talk to Mrs. Stamatis.”

Stamatis was happy about the results in sales.

“We sold approximately 1200 yearbooks,” Stamatis said. “This is an average number, but considering the enrollment, it is a good sales percentage.”

Students liked this year’s yearbook. According to senior Taylor Mansell, the yearbooks were very proffessional.

“I liked how classy the yearbooks looked,” Mansell said. “I loved all the pictures that were incorporated in it.”

Mansell was impressed by all of the pages, but she had a specific page that stood out to her.

“My favorite page’ were the all of the club pages,” Mansell said. “These pages showed the progression of the year in a unique way.”

The yearbook tried out new technology this year where students could watch live video on a phone app.

“This new app is called Aurasma,” Rynberg said. “On the field rededication page, you can watch a live video by putting the app on one of the pictures on that page.”

The app is free and it is unique way of remembering the day of the field rededication at Tracy High.

For distribution day the yearbook staff had yearbook T-shirts designed by one of the class members.

“The shirts that the class was wearing on distribution day were designed by my student Regine Manuel,” Stamatis said. “I feel that this shirt proves that some individuals in my class are very talented.

Stamatis will be retiring from Tracy High after 24 years of teaching. Stamatis said that she will miss teaching students at Tracy High, and she will miss teaching the yearbook class.

“Yearbook was my favorite class to teach,” Stamatis said. “I will miss every single one of my students.”

The new yearbook teacher has not been named, but there are some characteristics that he/she will need in order for the yearbook to be successful.

“The new teacher has to be enthusiastic, caring, and organized,” Stamatis said.

Students are going to miss Stamatis, especially Rynberg.

“Mrs. Stamatis is my favorite teacher ever,” Rynberg said. “Her words really touch me whenever she speaks to our class.”
