Tracy High participates in principals’ lip sync competition

The Principals’ Hispanics Lip Sync competition will take place on at Clovis High School in Clovis on April 9. Practices started on Feb. 8. There are approximately 12 students taking part in this activity.
The theme for the competition is Hispanic music. The competition is an activity for students to have fun, with different students, and parents. School, compete against each other, lip syncing and dancing to different types of Hispanic music in front of a crowd and judges.
Tracy High has been participating in this competition for about 25 years; however, the last two years they didn’t have the competition due to a lack of sponsorship.
“Clovis finally got some money donated, and are finally able to start having the competition again,” Tracy High lip sync coordinator Nisla Fonseca said.
Tracy High has won over $10,000 for scholarships for students who participated in the competition.
“I like the competition, Mr. Noll likes the competition, and it’s something we have done with all the principals,” Fonseca said.
“It’s new, fun, and it’s just something different for the students to be a part of,” Noll said.
Noll has been participating in this competition for five years. The competition brings scholarship money to students.
The students will be practicing three times a week for the next month and then will spend the day in Clovis lip syncing to different songs and having fun.
