As the season comes to a close, the graduating seniors are preparing for senior day, Friday, May 6.

“I am excited for senior day. I think it will be exciting and it is an event that doesn’t happen often, so I hope our team performs well on that day. I’m happy that they are honoring us graduating seniors,” senior Noah Denoyer said.

“Senior day should be fun, but we still have to work hard that day to beat our opponent,” coach Vic Alkire said.

The Bulldogs are also preparing for section championships, which they have high hope of competing in at the end of the season.

“Our goal is to win the section champions ring. We definitely have the talent and we’ve shown that we can beat any team. We just have to stay focused and play our way to the top,” junior Lee Brewer said.

Brewer is close to setting the most home runs in a career record at Tracy High. With five games left to play in league, Brewer is only four home runs away from beating the record, fourteen, that has been standing since 1991.

“It’s pretty cool to be apart of Tracy High baseball history. It would be awesome to beat the record that was set 25 years ago. It will be challenging because you don’t try to hit home runs in baseball, so, hopefully, I can get some out before the season ends,” Brewer said.

“Lee is playing very well. He’s not that far off from breaking the home run record. He is also seeing the ball well,” Alkire said.

The next game will be against West High at the Tracy baseball feild on April 27.
