Senior Recital as a Junior

Band student Dane Hurst is not only the youngest student to ever do a senior recital, but is also the first student to ever get his PAM diploma through a jazz pathway.

These are no small feats and it, he had to put in even more work to accomplish these things a year ahead than everyone is. But when you have as much passion as he does, it does not feel like work at all.

“I had to complete a certificate project last year which by itself was a lot of work to do, I also needed to have three years of a PAM class to be eligible. I’m more than committed, doing many gigs and performances outside of school, so I was able to do it my Junior year.”, says Hurst.

Being determined and doing what you love is a clear combination for success.
