Born in Tracy, Calif., Abigail MacDonald was raised by her grandmother and mother. Her grandmother had a significant influence on her childhood, as most of her days were spent at her grandmother’s house. MacDonald began to swim in her early childhood alongside her older sister, but not the eldest. She still enjoys swimming but now focuses on scuba diving, having realized after a year swimming competitively that competitive swimming wasn’t meant for her. MacDonald finds peace in the sea and loves swimming with sea creatures. She also likes to travel and intends to visit every country at least once. Her father took her on many trips in her childhood which led her to finding joy in trying new things. She dreams of a career that involves travelling so she can experience new cultures. MacDonald wants to apply lessons that she learned from her loved ones to her everyday life. She is ready to focus on her own journey and is ready for her next chapter of her life.
