Addison Van Os is a 17-year-old senior at Tracy High School. Born and raised in Tracy, she is the youngest of four children. Her family includes her mom, dad, two older sisters, and an older brother. All three of her siblings attended Tracy High School before going in different directions for college. This is Van Os’ first year in journalism, and she is looking forward to developing her writing and leadership skills through the class. She enjoys traveling, hiking, and spending time with friends. This past summer, she had the opportunity to explore Europe and hopes to return soon. Van Os is a member of the International Baccalaureate (IB) program and has been a three-year varsity volleyball player. For her senior year, she also joined varsity cheer. In addition, she is the founder and president of the Athletic Leadership Council, led by Coach Matt Shrout, where she works to unite athletes and promote sportsmanship and pride in Tracy High athletics. Outside of school, she works for a competitive cheer team gym, teaching tumbling classes to young athletes when she is not in volleyball season. Her involvement extends to academics and service as well. Van Os has earned the Academic Block T and has been recognized as scholar athlete throughout high school. She has also earned the Community Service Block T for her dedication to giving back to the community. Her favorite high school memory was winning homecoming as sophomore class president, when she saw her hard work appreciated under the Friday night lights. After high school, Van Os plans to attend a four-year university outside of California. She takes her academics seriously, achieving a 4.6 GPA in her junior year.
