Janessa Khimthang is currently freshman at Tracy High School. She was born on September 15, 2010. She grew up in San Leandro, California and moved to Tracy when she was seven. Then attending Louis Bohn Elementary for one year before transferring to South West Park Elementary. She is the middle child of three, with an older brother who is a senior at Tracy High School, and a younger sister in eighth grade who attends Williams Middle School. Khimthang enjoys reading, watching TV shows, skateboarding, listening to music and playing guitar. When she’s not at school, she’s spending time with her friends, going on walks, shopping, traveling, or visiting her family in San Leandro. She has two dogs, Arya and Loki, as well as two cats, Milo and Macy. Her parents are Asian American, her dad being Laos and Thai and her mom being Filipino. Her favorite music artists are Chase Atlantic, The Neighborhood, Arctic Monkeys, TV Girl, Montell Fish, Brent Faiyaz and Don Toliver. This is her first year in Journalism and she is looking to pursue a career in writing, or the medical field. She hopes that Journalism will help her branch out and socialize with her peers, as well as help her improve at writing.
