Pratibha Saroya, News Editor
Pratibha (Pra-tee-ba) Saroya is senior at Tracy High School. It is her first year in Journalism and she serves as a News Editor. The news at Scholar and Athlete entails articles about global and local politics, natural disasters, and monumental events. Saroya is also the Vice President for Ethics Bowl and the Co-Curriculum Club Academic Decathlon. She is also a part of the International Baccalaureate (IB) Program, as she used it to transferred to Tracy High. Saroys’s has two siblings; one older sister in college and a younger brother in elementary school. She has lived in Tracy for six years and attended Jefferson Middle School. As a writer and Editor for Scholar and Athlete, she hopes to prove her journalistic abilities and gain knowledge on the real-life experiences of journalists. Her interests are in politics, history, anthropology, and philosophy. Saroya’s hobbies are cooking for her and her siblings, read novels about tenacious characters, and drawing. In her four years of high school she has learned to pursue activities out of interest instead of obligation, the importance of proper communication, and to charge her computer every night. By the end of this year Saroya hopes to have prepared her clubs for future competitions and improve her capabilities for future as a journalist.
