The Lady Bulldogs have had an unbelievable 2019 season. Head coach Paulette Keeney feels very confident about her girls heading into playoffs.

The girls ended the 2019 season with a 20-6 overall record and a 14-1 league record. League champs for the second year in a row, they feel confident heading into playoffs.

The Bulldogs are leading in almost every stat category there is. Senior captain Karina Faasisila talked about how she feels heading into playoffs, stating, “I feel super confident in our team and the way we’re playing right now. We have a very talented team this year and we need to keep working hard in practice so we can win these games.”

Senior captain Emily Yanke was asked about being league champs for two years in a row, she said, “It’s a great accomplishment to win the league two years in a row. I love this team and I want to finish my senior year with a bang.”

The Lady Bulldogs hope to stay focused despite the senior activities going on. They know how important winning another section title is for them, so continuing to work hard is important.

11 out of the 18 players on the team are seniors. Junior Bella Pahulu talked about the experience the team has, saying, “It’s really special to have a lot of experience on the team. We have a lot of seniors who have playoff experience, so that will be important when the time comes.”

The Bulldogs won their first game of playoffs, beating Davis 3-2.

The girls went on to win the second round against Lincoln 8-1.

The third round of playoffs is at a stand-still right now due to rain. They are set to play Whitney, but the date is unknown.
