As I finish my senior year at Tracy High School, I have come to realize how much I have changed as a person in many positive ways. I began my high school career as a very shy, quiet girl, and I did not want much attention drawn towards myself. Today, I have more friends, and I am much more outgoing than I was the past four years of my life. I participated in school events, sports teams, and I have even found that I make conversation with almost anyone that I am around.

Being a part of Tracy High has definitely allowed me the amazing opportunities to gain more friends and to become a better person.

Now that I am in my fourth year of high school, I have seen many of the changes that I have gone through since freshman year. If I could give myself or any other freshman advice, I would definitely say to try new things and make plenty of good memories. Trying new things, such as sports and other activities, gave me the opportunity to become friends with many of the people I am still close with today. Not only did I get these new friends, but I also got the experience of doing these specific things, and being at these events.

Although I involved myself with many school events, I still have some regrets about what I did not do these last four years. For example, although I attended special events like Prom and Girl’s Treat, I never went to a regular school dance, such as the Homecoming or Hoopla dances. Now that I have realized how shy I was my freshman year, I definitely would give the advice to be more outgoing instead of not talking to many people like I do now. I have grown much more as a person ever since my first year of high school, and I couldn’t be happier with how many people I have gotten to know, and all of the activities I have participated in.

There are many accomplishments that I have achieved in my last four years at Tracy High. Along with being accepted into the Ag Science program, I was also a part of multiple athletic teams, and I maintained good grades. One of my proudest moments was being accepted onto the varsity cheerleading team, and receiving my Block T and academic patch. Other accomplishments included being a part of the softball team for two years, and joining track my senior year. Although I did many sports, I managed to put much of my focus on my academics, as well, and I kept a good grade point average. These were my proudest accomplishments in my high school career.

After I graduate, I hope to have a success in the four year college I am attending in the fall. I will be attending San Jose State, and majoring in journalism. I would definitely like to graduate with good grades and a degree for my major that I will use for my future job, as well. For my future career, I want to work for either a magazine or a news channel, and I would like to be very successful when doing so. I am more than excited to attend college and shape the pathway for my future life.
