The softball team season was supposed to start on Thursday, Feb. 26 against Cosumnes Oaks. However, the rain has had other ideas as the season tries to get going.

The Varsity softball team overall record last year was 25-5. They were undefeated in the league and won a Division 1 section title.

Emily Yankee is a Captain and a second baseman on the varsity team.

“We have big expectations this year,” said Yankee.

Since the team had a good record and won sections, they hope to repeat this year.

“I believe our team will do great things this year if we stay focused on our goal. We have not played any games yet this year, but we’re hoping to follow the same path as last year,” said Yankee.

“We practice at a high caliber, making bonds with our teammates, so when it comes back to the game we’re all comfortable with each other knowing each other strengths,” Yankee continued.

This just shows that the team is close and are friends. The team is ready to begin the season and hopefully take another league and section title.
