From Wednesday, Aug. 20 to Friday, Aug 22, the students and staff at Tracy High School ran Club Rush Week, advertising the various clubs offered on campus.
Students and teachers set up tables in front of the cafeteria during both lunches encouraging students to sign up for their clubs.
Club Rush was organized by junior Violet Howard, who said preparing for it was “really chaotic and stressful” and “takes a lot of energy.” Howard also participates in clubs, one of which is the Black Student Union.
Treasurer of the Acts of Kindness club, Maddie Ayyoobi expressed her enjoyment.
“You kind of form like a little community”, Ayyoobi states.
Ayyoobi and her counter club members had candy and signup sheets encouraging students to sign up and give it a shot.
President of Asian Pacific Islanders club Arianne Cate explains why she stays so committed.
“How fun it was, and interacting with other people, not only my own seniors but other grades as well.”
Another club present was the Ethics Bowl, one of the more educational clubs at Tracy High. Students discuss different categories of ethics, such as ethical issues within our world today and origins of ethics.
Co-President Cali Krowl explains the benefits of being in her fourth year in the Ethics Bowl.
“I have learned a lot about philosophy and ethics, and it’s helped me a lot with just my overall speaking abilities,” she said.
According to Crowl, ethics bowl provides opportunities to improve your speaking abilities, learn philosophy and explore various modern and historical ethical issues.
Juliet Thomas, the president of Christian Club, explains how joining a club is easy.
“All you have to do is follow the Instagram and join the Remind,” Thomas noted.
With dozens of clubs ranging from Community Service to Cultural Connections and Academic Enrichment, Tracy High’s Club Rush Week reminded students that Tracy High has more to offer than just classes.
The various clubs offer campus life beyond grades by offering opportunities to pursue passions and make memories that last after high school.
