Katy Perry’s new album “Prism” is her fourth studio album. It was released on Oct. 22, 2013. There are a total of 13 songs on the album. The songs are very bold, meaningful, and inspirational, and the listeners would find them very catchy and enthralling.

“Prism” is a mix of slow rock/pop/modern music. The beat seems “exotic” in some songs, such as the song “Legendary Lovers”.

This album shows Katy Perry as a headstrong woman, in the song “Roar” she sings, “You held me down but I got up, get ready ’cause I’ve had enough”. This song relates to her personal life and that is what makes it inspirational. She’s had hardships but she’s made it through.

Katy Perry’s music is very moving and this is what makes the singer/songwriter lyrically strong unlike many of the new artists now days that sing about money, partying and drugs. Her music in this album has a very “tough cookie” type of characteristic.

Her songs are each like a story, each representing an event or moment in her life. A couple of my favorite songs are “Dark Horse”, “Legendary Lovers”, and “Walking on Air”. These songs have a very catchy tune and they’re very upbeat.

There were a couple songs that weren’t my favorite. The songs “Unconditionally” and “Love Me” weren’t bad but the beat was strange. The lyrics were great though, so throughout this whole album, even if you weren’t listening to the beat, appreciate the lyrics.

“Prism” is one of the best albums out right now and I recommend that people should listen to it for something inspiration. The music and lyrics are great and it’s a nice change from the usual pop and rap music.
