“The Lego Movie” was over and above all expectations I had. I would definitely advise people of all ages to go watch. Legos have been around since 1958, parents grew up with them and now they are passing them down to their children. It is the perfect movie to help parents and their kids bond.

The movie came out Feb 7 and was an instant hit. The theater was full when I went with lots of laughing people.

The producers came up with a cast full of all stars. The main character, Emmet, was voiced by Chris Pratt. Secondary characters include President Business, voiced by Will Ferrell, Vitruvius, voiced by Morgan Freeman, Wyldstle, voiced by Elizabeth Banks, and Bad Cop, voiced by Liam Neeson.

The plot of the story was centered around an everyday, generic Lego piece trying to save the Lego world. President Business had a plan to use the Kragle to glue down all of the Lego pieces and make the perfect scene. This every day Lego piece was supposed to be a master builder and in order to save the world, he had to build special items for specific situations. In the end they connect the plot of the Lego world to the plot of the real world.

My favorite part of the movie was toward the end when Will Ferrell appeared for the first time. The movie was set inside his basement but that wasn’t revealed until the end. The way they connected the Lego world and the real world was by having different settings for the different Lego worlds. For example one of the Lego worlds was a medieval theme, another was space theme. All of the different settings were in Ferrell’s basement.

I really do not have anything bad to say about the movie. The plot was very original, the way they introduced the main characters to you made if feel like they were real people and at the end of it all, you learn the movie was all based on the owners family.

I would probably give the movie a 9 or 10 out of 10. I loved how they brought the real world and the Lego world into one, giving the image of a kid playing with the Legos and creating the story in his own mind. Which it turned out, someone really was. I would love to see the filmmakers come out with a sequel.
