Tracy High Band Boosters are hosting the annual Jazz After Dark on March ,1at 6 p.m at the Tracy Community Center. The night will consist of Italian dining, catered by Strings Italian Café, jazz music, and silent and live auctions.

This event is one night only, to raise money for the band at Tracy High. They will be playing all different types of Jazz, including classics: “The Chicken”, “Drive-In”, “Too Close For Comfort”, and many more. The Jazz music will range from early 1950’s to modern day.

“I’m really looking forward to interacting with the parents,” Band teacher Jeffery Kumagai said. “And a lucky winner of the live auctions will be able to conduct the band during our spring concert.”

Jazz After Dark has been going on for the past seven years thanks to band booster president Lyntte Holtz.

“This fundraiser is very successful. Even with the economic decline we still manage to raise money.” Kumagai said.

Donations are used to buy and repair instruments, bus fees, and new uniforms.

Tickets will cost $30 per person until Jan 31, and then from Feb 1 to Feb 26 tickets will cost $35. Tickets will not be sold at the door.
