Head coach Jessica Lenhart and assistant coach Erin Mann are very pleased with the way the season is going so far.

“The season is going well,” Mann said. “Many swimmers qualified for the section meet, which is very impressive considering how small of a team we have this year.”

The boys’ team consists of seven boys with two outstanding athletes, sophomore Nathan Hu and freshman Brandon Brown. Hu competes in the short distance freestyle butterfly and Brown competes in the long distance breaststroke.

Although it is an individual sport the boys work as motivators for the rest of the team. They pump them up and get ready for their race.

There are two more meets to finish out the rest of the season and a league meet the first weekend of May.

“We have so few numbers that we can only achieve a certain amount of points,” Mann said. “We will only be able to finish in either third or fourth place.”

The last home meet of the year will be Thursday at 3:30, at Tracy High against Chavez High School.

Domonique Banner is the head coach for the dive team. The team currently has a total of seven boys, two returning and five new divers.

Junior Ryan Scott and sophomore Alex Lopez have all 11 dives down that they need for championships and sections.

“They both execute well and currently the top scorers on the team,” Banner said.

Banner has high hopes in sections and is relying on three varsity boys, Ryan Scott, Cameron Johnson, and Keyon Ghorbani, to contribute their best into the meet.

The next meet will be at Bear Creek on the 25th and 3:30. This will be the last league meet of the season.
