I think my team has a lot of potential to go far,

,’’ Coach Mahina McCamey said.

There are definitely things McCamey feels they need to improve on, but said they are already a pretty solid team.                                                                                                   “If we keep getting better and better with each passing week, the sky’s the limit for us,’’ McCamey said.                                                                                                        According to McCamey, the team needs to improve the consistency of its serve receive passing, which in turn will strengthen the defense.                                                               “Ultimately, the team’s goal is to win league, get a high seed, and make a statement in the playoffs,” McCamey said.                                                                                               Over the summer, playing and practicing together allowed the girls to find a good chemistry that contributes to them playing well.                                                                        “Our strength, quickness, conditioning, and endurance improved as well, I’m extremely excited for this year,” she said.                                                                                                          There are two sophomores on the team. Hannah Presely, right side hitter and setter and Chelsey Eddy Berry, libero and defensive specialist.                                                                                                                                                                   Chelsey said some goals for her and the team are to learn a lot from the coaches, and she hopes to learn a lot from her sister Casey Eddy Berry, who has experienced varsity for four years.                                                                                                              Over the summer she said her confidence got better, and she just had fun which improves her energy on and off the court.                                                                                                                “We are determined to win league,” Chelsey said.                                                                Jenna Wesley, Mika Fithian, and Casey Eddy are the captain of the volleyball team.

“I love to have fun on the court and with my teammates,” Wesley said.

Also, she knows how to focus and encourage others.                                                                                                                                            “The team needs to focus and work hard every practice and to ultimately win league,’’ Wesley said. She wants to finish her last volleyball season with no regrets and leave everything she has on the court.                                                                                                   “We are excited for the season and should do really well throughout league and playoffs,’’ McCamey said.
