Tracy High’s girls Golf Team, so far has been doing really well especially for Kirsten Bas. Her coach Derek Solano is real proud of her.

“She has been our lowest our lowest scorer,” Solano said. “She has improved her average by a few strokes but not that much.”

Bas’s brings leadership to the team because she knows the game and how it is played and does things correctly and knows how to manage herself. A lot of the girls, younger girls, on the golf team watch Bas and how she anticipates the game. They watch how she handles herself, and her knowledge of the game.

She shows the other girls how not to get mad at themselves for a bad shot and teach how to have the girls carry themselves.

Bas is not really an inspiration person towards anybody she just goes out and plays her game. She handles her day and manages the golf course.

Bas’s best score this year a 50, which is a Par 36, so which meant she was 14 over. But last year Bas averaged about 52-53.

Bas has been playing golf for three years and really enjoys playing the games. She has a lot of fun playing.

“Golf is very interesting,” Bas said. “And my dad and sister started to play golf, so I started to as well.”

Bas doesn’t know whether she wants to be play golf in college or not. She is still thinking on what she wants to do.

Her goals for this season are to have a lower score from last year and to have better stokes as well.

“Over summer I played little tournaments and got some good practices in,” Bas said

Tracy Highs Golf Team started practicing the first day of school.

Bas doesn’t have any inspiration towards the sport. She doesn’t watch it because she thinks it boring, but she believes that her dad and her sister are kind of inspiration towards golf.

“My best average is a 42,” Bas said “It’s a Par 36 and went over six, it was really cool.”

So far as of right now the Tracy High Girls Golf Team is three and one totally and one and one for their league. They have played a totally of four golf matches and have only lost one, but one those losses was in league. In league they are one and one.

The girl’s golf team’s next match is on September 24, 2013 at Tracy Golf Country Club. Come watch the Lady Bulldogs defeat Franklin.
