As we enter the new year we need to remember to stay happy and healthy.

To improve your physical health you should walk for at least 30 minutes every day along with drinking about 80 ounces of water. Drinking a lot of water will boost your metabolism and make you feel good.

Being active will help you look and feel your best. Eating well is a key part of looking healthy. Fruit and vegetables are good to eat, but not too much. Fruits have healthy sugars, so an abundance of fruit may not be the healthiest. Sugary foods and drinks are not good for you. Eating fatty or sugary foods can make you sick or not feel good. It is always important to take care of your body!

Mental health, especially in teens, is just as important as physical health.  Teenagers are more likely to stress more because of school, family, and friends.

When feeling down or sad talk to someone you trust. Talking to someone is very important! It is not good to hold in all of your emotions and feelings. Talking about what is bothering you will lift a weight off your shoulders.

When surrounding yourself around people who want the best for you, it changes your overall attitude. You want people in your life to help and support you, not to bring you down.

There are simple things you can do to make you stress less such as being organized, make the bed, clean your room, and most importantly get enough sleep!
