Julia Sawin

Julia Sawin, Assistant News Editor

Julia Sawin is a 16-year-old junior at Tracy High School. She was born on February 4, 2005, in Pleasanton, California. She has lived in Tracy her whole life. Julia lives in a family of five. She has two younger sisters; one whom is a freshman at Tracy High and the other whom is a 5th grader. She does everything with them and is very lucky to call them her best friends. Julia Sawin is a competitive baton twirler as well as the feature twirler for Tracy High. She has been twirling since she was 4 years old. She has been honored to be a part of Team USA and competed all over the world and has won many National and International titles. Her most memorable was winning the gold medal in Canada and the bronze medal in France with her pairs partner. Sawin loves to travel and explore new places. Besides competing in Canada and France, Sawin has also been to Washington D.C and Florida to name a few places. Sawin has a passion for performing. Her favorite memory from twirling at Tracy High School was the reaction of her peers when she twirled a fire baton at the night rally her freshmen year. The energy was unmatched. Julia is a hard worker, an optimist, and never backs down from a challenge. Julia loves reading and writing in her free time and also enjoys following sports statistics, especially when it comes to the Kansas City Chiefs and the Golden State Warriors. She takes her schoolwork very seriously and has set many goals for herself. Some of her favorite subjects are math, science and language arts. She is aspiring to attend a four year university and twirl for her college band as well. She recently had the opportunity to twirl at a University of Colorado football game and it was the most amazing experience. Julia is most interested in becoming a rocket engineer.
