Shane Gines, Sports Editor
Shane Gines was born in Seattle, Washington and moved to Tracy, California when he was 3. He enjoys living in Tracy, but plans to move away when he gets the chance. He is currently a senior at Tracy High and is on track to graduate. When Shane was young, he always had an image of what he wanted to do and have as a career. Just recently, he has decided that after he graduates high school, he will join the military coast guard. He plays basketball and football, but has always loved boxing the most. His favorite boxers are, George Foreman, Roberto Duran, Sugar Ray Leonard and the list goes on. They inspire him to be the best at his craft and never give up as they express immeasurable amounts of heart. Watching boxing has shown Shane what it means to have compassion and persevere through hardship. The incredible basketball player, Michael Jordan, had the biggest impact on Shane’s life. Whether it be from school, or to sports, or to anything at all, taught him to keep your head up high even in the worst moments and to never give up. Shane is a huge fan of rap and any other genre of music really. His favorite artists being Lil Uzi Vert, Taylor Swift, and Suigeneris. He is also a huge fan of anime, mainly for the real-life lessons they teach and the beautiful aesthetic they have. Anime has taught him many lessons and it has had a massive impact on his life and his outlook on life in general. All these life lessons he’s learned from his idols and anime’s, made his life much easier and more fun as well. Helping him succeed in school and push towards his life goals he set in place.
