With homecoming just around the corner for the Tracy Bulldogs, all the details are finally coming together. The theme this year for homecoming is movie genres.

The freshmen are comedy, sophomores are terror, juniors are musicals, and the seniors are action.

“We are already in full homecoming mode, picking out class t-shirts and sweatshirts, before anyone is even thinking about homecoming,” Activity Director Alayna Carter said.

Voting for class prince and princesses as well as voting for royal court was held Oct. 1-3.

Freshman prince and princess are Michael Kuzma and Chelsey Eddy. Sophomore prince and princess are Josuph Sanchez and Lexie Gomez. Junior prince and princess are Jordan Pombo and Allison Beteta.

Homecoming queen candidates are: Ruth Alvarez, Devra Asah, Melissa Clark, Jill Finney, Ashlie Rodgers and Lindsie Stokes.

Homecoming king candidates are: Josh Brakkee, Chaz Briggs, Dalton Gualco, Beau Mantor, Luke Pulliam, and Jeff Takahashi.

Dress up days for the week will be comedy/action themed on Monday, terror/musical themed on Tuesday, designated class colors on Wednesday, jersey day on Thursday, and extreme green and gold on Friday. Class colors are still being determined.

The night rally practice will be held on Oct. 15, with the night rally on the following night, Oct. 16. The rally will take place in the newly constructed Wayne Schneider Stadium. Senior Lindsey Raaker is the rally commissioner and is in charge of the homecoming rally with the assistance of co-rally commissioner junior Casey Eddy Berry.

“Being in charge of the rally can be really stressful at times because everything is ultimately relying on me,” Raaker said. “I enjoy it because it’s the day where everything finally comes together and I get to see all my precious visions turned into reality.”

The freshman football game will be on Oct. 17 at 5 p.m. followed by the powder puff game around 7:05 p.m. consisting of the junior class girls playing against the senior class girls.

“I am looking forward to the powder puff game, rally, and the parade,” ASB president Devra Asah said. “Those are my favorite parts of homecoming.”

Friday, Oct. 18, is float construction and homecoming day. The homecoming parade will take place right after school at 3 p.m. in downtown Tracy and will showcase all the clubs, sports teams, class floats and the marching band.

Tracy’s varsity and sophomore football teams will play against the Lodi High Flames; sophomores starting at 5 p.m. and varsity starting around 7:15 p.m. After the varsity game there will be a homecoming dance in the Cafeteria from 9 p.m. to 12 a.m. The dance is $5 for general admission and free if you have ASB card.

Flower parties are on Mondays and Wednesdays from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. This is designated time for each class to put together their skit, backdrop, skirt for the float and anything else that they may need to work on. The next flower party will be Wednesday, Oct. 9.
