Delta has transfer opportunities to various universities. Northwood university, Central Michigan University, Eastern Michigan University as well as Oakland university.
Credit redemption is offered for students who may have had low grades in high school, Delta accepts students regardless of grade point average.
“We accept everyone, the college really is a fresh start,” Torres said.
Delta has staff, professors, faculty and counselors trained to help students and support them with whatever they need.
According to Torres, professors are always persistent on students coming in for help for various subjects and offer to work with them one-on-one.
Free tutoring is also offered on campus during, after and sometimes before office hours depending on availability.
As for student life, on the Stockton Campus, Delta’s main campus, there is something going on every day.
“We have monthly wellness Wednesdays, where students can just relax, they’ll have activities whether its coloring, painting. Then they have a lot of clubs organizations, and we do have the athletic department” Torres added.
Delta college was presented as not just a place for education, but a place where students can recover from academic setbacks, find community, explore new interests and set up for success.
