On Friday, March 27, Tracy High School held its annual signing day for senior athletes who committed to colleges or junior colleges.
The athletes who signed to continue to the next level were Kylie Sanders (Northwest Nazarene, stunt), Emry Couch (Long Beach, softball), Emma Cargill (Cal Berkeley, softball), Ezequiel Zapien (Pacific Union, soccer), Eva Davis (Fresno Pacific, track), Olivia Sams (Menlo College, girls soccer) and Noah Porter (Menlo College, wrestling).
Olivia Sams expressed her gratitude for the support system that helped her reach this moment and continue her soccer career.

“My parents definitely have supported me the most,” Sams said. “Driving me everywhere and making sure I was able to play soccer throughout the years.”
Sams also thanked her high school team for helping prepare her for the next step.
“My high school team helped prepare me for college by making me a better teammate and helping me grow as a player throughout the four years,” Sams said.
Noah Porter expressed excitement for this new chapter in his wrestling career and the opportunity to continue competing at the next level.
“I’m most excited to grow in my skills,” Porter said, “and be able to showcase them on a bigger scale.”
Porter also shared what he is looking forward to in this experience.
“I love that I am going to have new experiences with my sport and getting close to a new team,” he said.

Sams and Porter also shared their goals for their college careers.
“My main goal in college is to have a significant role on the team all four years and make an impact,” Sams said.
“My goals are to excel at everything I can and grow as a wrestler and as a person so I can be prepared for the rest of my career,” Porter said.
Congratulations to all the THS athletes who committed. We cannot wait to see what they accomplish in the future.
