After a loss as juniors last year, the seniors were dominant in the 2013 Tracy High annual Powder Puff game. The seniors defeated the juniors, 12-0, in Wayne Schneider Stadium on Oct. 17.

The seniors felt redeemed after a, 12-6, loss last year.

“It was great,” senior Devra Asah said. “It was definitely our time, and it felt like we were redeeming ourselves.”

The class of 2014 felt like they made a statement in this game.

“Our slogan is seniors going out with a bang,” senior Jazmin Clarke said, “and I really feel we went out with a bang in that game.”

Clarke scored for the seniors on a 10-yard run with 6:29 left to go in the first half. She scored the only touchdown for the then juniors last year. Tayler Misfeldt later scored on a 25-yard run in the second half for the seniors.

“We talked a lot of mess with the juniors and we were very competitive,” Clarke said. “So it was great to score the first touchdown in the game.”

The senior coaches wanted to confuse the juniors with their offensive scheme.

“We put in plays that would confuse the juniors on the other side of the ball,” senior coach Clay Fegett said.

The seniors’ defense played a big role in the shutout.

“Our defense was so much more aggressive and did a really good job of stopping the juniors’ offense,” Clarke said.

The senior boys played the role of cheerleaders at halftime and it was entertaining.

“It was funny to see the guys all dressed up in cheer uniforms,” senior Rachael Rodrigues. “They ended up putting on a great show.”

The juniors feel like the experience from this year will help them next year as seniors.

“Most of the team next year is going to have a background from this year,” junior coach Michael Brown said. “That will give us an advantage next year.”
