On Wednesday Dec. 10th, the Tracy High Girls Soccer played Ripon at home and won 4-0. This being their first home game, increased their record to 2-0.
Ripon applied pressure immediately after kickoff having multiple possessions through the Tracy defense until Eden Fry intercepts a pass and passed it up field, finding Alysabeth Saenz. Dribbling through two defenders, Saenz scores the first goal only 2 minutes into the game.

Ripon’s pressure remained persistent as they win over many throw ins and possessions. Tracy Goalkeeper Breea Lewandowski closed multiple scoring opportunities for Ripon.
Tracy’s passing game kept the ball away from Ripon defenders, and a through pass by Saenz to Isabella Cordero is shot and sailed over the goal just barely.
Midway through the first half, a cross by Ripon is sent in the goal through a header, tying the game 1-1.
Tracy is able to form multiple scoring opportunities, with a pass by Saenz to Olivia Sams is almost scored but deflected by the Keeper.
Immediately after, Tracy turns the ball back over and scored with 6 minutes left in the half. Sams put Tracy ahead 2-1 going into the half.
“Ripon had some good players we had to take on defensively,” Lizzy Garcia, Tracys Left back recalled. “But towards the end of the half we were able to find a way to stay connected and stop all of Ripon’s chances.”

The second half began and the ball is bounced around Tracy’s goal, but the Defense successfully keeps it away out of the goal and clears the ball up field to be received by Saenz. Saenz passed to Sams for an easy tap in goal, Tracy is leading 3-1, within the first 6 minutes.
The scoring does not halt, as Tracy has found their footing. A cross by Sams to Fry is scored but taken back as a ruling of offsides. Tracy continued to lead 3-1.
As it seems the action has came to a stop, a freekick is rewarded to Tracy with a handball from Ripon. Sams lined up 20 yards out to take the shot, curling the ball over Ripon defenders into the goal, solidifying Tracy’s lead to 4-1.
With the clock running low Ripon found a path to the box, but Garcia was already on the ball, silencing any chance of scoring.
“The Bulldogs first home game is a successful one” Varsity head coach Phillip Kalis said, “We have a dedicated group of girls with strong leadership which just shows me how bright our future is.”
With a 2-0 record (4-0 updated) the Bulldogs will play away at the 8-0-1 Gregori Jaguars on December 19th.
