On Thursday April 23, the Tracy High School AG Sci Program held their annual awards night for the graduating students who are in the program. This ceremony is special to the students because it shows that their hard work and dedication to the program is being recognized.
Gavin McCoy expressed what the AG program meant to and how it helped him build a community throughout his four years.

“To me AG means being part of a little community at Tracy High.” McCoy explained. “I’ve been with the same group of people over the last four years and I have gotten close to a lot of awesome people.”
Dayson Balsano also expressed what this program meant to him and the family he gained from it and how grateful he is for that.
“To me Ag/Sci has been like a family.” Balsano reflected. “Being able to go through these last four years with the same group of people has given me such strong connections and friendships with my peers and I’m so greatful for that!”
Every year, the program gives an AG Science Scholarship, and this year it was given to Eva Burg. Burg expressed her excitement for the scholarship, and it is going to help her with her future.
“This scholarship will help me cover the cost of college.” Burg expressed, “And it means a lot because it reflects the hard work I’ve put into the ag program.”
McCoy explained that students should join this program if they enjoy being involved.
“People should take ag if they enjoy being involved.” McCoy expressed. “Most people who take ag are involved in sports, clubs and stay active in and outside of school.”
Balsano believes that this program is great to join because of the skills you learn throughout that you can take on after high school.
“I think people should take Ag because it truly gives you such a strong sense of community.” Balsano expressed. “And it teaches you so much about how to thrive in life after high school through all the skills and experience the program gives you.”
Burg also expressed why incoming freshman should join the AG Sci program because of the great opportunities it offers.
“Students should join the ag program because it creates a strong sense of community on campus and offers opportunities to get involved through senior projects, job shadowing, and other hands-on experiences.” Burg explained.
Congratulations to all our AG Sci seniors for all their hard work and dedication that they have shown throughout their four years at Tracy High.
